Hurricane Milton: Emergency Shelters Open in Lee County

Emergency shelters have been opened in South Lee County due to Hurricane Milton, which is classified as a life-threatening storm. Residents are advised that storm surges of 8 to 12 feet are expected in the area.

The following shelters are available:

1. **Alico Arena**

- Address: 12181 FGCU Lake Parkway East, Fort Myers

2. **Hertz Arena**

- Address: 11000 Everblades Pkwy, Estero

3. **Estero Recreation Center**

- Address: 9200 Corkscrew Palms Blvd, Estero

The Fort Myers Police Department reports that there are 13 shelter options available throughout Lee County, with two located in the city of Fort Myers.

Residents in mandatory evacuation zones along the Caloosahatchee River corridor are urged to evacuate and seek shelter until the storm passes. There is still time to evacuate.
