Fort Myers Debris Collection: Follow Important Guidelines

Staff Report / FMlocal.org

The City of Fort Myers is actively collecting debris in areas affected by recent events. Residents are advised to separate construction debris, horticulture, and bulk items into distinct piles and not to mix them when placing them on the curb. Additionally, black bags should not be used as FEMA needs to inspect the items.

Regular trash collection for both commercial and residential areas is continuing, while recycling services are set to resume on October 21st. An extra trash route will be operational on October 18th, covering the Thursday and Friday routes.

For further updates, residents can visit the city’s recovery website at cityftmyers.com/recover or call 239-321-8100.
