Parks Support Children's Mental Health and Well-Being

Staff Report / FMlocal.org

Parks and recreational spaces are important for children's mental health, providing a safe environment for play and exploration. Valerie's House has a playground and green space available for the children it serves, acknowledging these benefits.

To improve access to such amenities, the City of Fort Myers is working on a Parks & Recreation Master Plan and a G.O. Bond initiative. This effort aims to ensure that neighborhoods across the community can equitably benefit from enhanced recreational facilities, supporting children's physical and emotional well-being.

For more information about the G.O. Bond and how it will impact the community, residents can visit the City of Fort Myers website at the provided link.
