Additionally, keeping vehicles either halfway full of gas or halfway charged is advised to facilitate quick evacuations if necessary and to avoid long lines for fuel or charging stations.

Homeowners should also secure their properties by removing potential debris such as loose tree limbs, patio furniture, and sports equipment.
